Outlook Express

Here is a brief but detailed guide on how to set up emails using Outlook Express. You can also find further details on this on the Microsoft Website

1. Open Outlook Express

2. From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.

3. Click the Add button, and choose Mail. (From slide out dialogue box).

4. In the Display name field, type in your name.
5. Click the Next button.

6. Select I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use.
7. In the E-mail address field, type in your email address.
8. Click the Next button.

9. Click the down arrow on the My incoming mail server is a drop-down list and choose POP3.
10. In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server field, type pop.inetc.net
11. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type smtp.inetc.net.
12. Click the Next button.

13. In the Account name field, type in your email address

14. In the Password field, type in your password.
15. Check the box next to Remember password if you would like to save your
password (otherwise you must type it in each time you check email).
16. Click the Next button.

17. Click the Finish button.
18. Click on Tools menu again and click Accounts.

20. Select your account and click the Properties button

21. Click on the General tab.

22. Change the Mail Account to your name or however you wish to name this account.
23. In User Information, enter any name. Copy or type in E-mail Address into the Reply address.
24. Make sure that the above check box contains a check.
25. Click the Servers tab.

26.Tick the box 'My server requires authentication'

27. Passwords are case sensitive. Change your password using capitalization if necessary.
28. Click the Connection tab.

Make sure that your connection is correct. If you have a modem, them the brand name of your
modem should be selected. Alternatively, if you connect to the internet via a cable modem,
or T1 line, your connection should be Local Area Network.

28. Click Apply and then OK. Test your email address by sending an email to your new email address.




Outlook 2000, XP or 2003

1. Open Outlook 2000, XP or 2003.
2. From the Tools menu, choose Email Accounts.

Select Add a new e-mail account.

Click the Next button.

5. Select POP3.
6. Click the Next button

In the Your Name field, type your name.
8. In the E-mail address field, type your email address.
9. In the Incoming mail server (POP3) field, type pop3.inetc.net

10. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server field, type smtp3.inetc.net
 

11. In the Username field, type your email address.

12. In the Password field, type your password. Passwords are case sensitive.
13. Click the Next button.

More settings
As we use SMTP Authentication to prevent SPAM you will now need to do the following:
14. Click on More settings
15. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and tick the 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires Authentication.
16. Click OK, then Next and Finish.

17. Click the Finish button.
